Meeting With the Client – Trying an Idea

I asked the client to meet me to discuss the website. I showed him some typefaces to see if he liked them.

He wasn’t keen on these typefaces so I asked what type of thing he’d prefer. He pointed me back to this:

He also said he likes the image of a ship’s wheel. I did a Google Image search to have a look. Perhaps this could be used in the background on the site?

Here is the image I put into whatfontis.com and myfonts.com.

Interesting to see that Merriment may have used a free font for their design!

The four typefaces that I thought would be good are:

I also looked up some swirly vectors.

I thought some kind of border around his name would look nice.

This is the shape I liked the best.

I printed these two out and took them to show the tutor.

I thought these were an okay start. I made the vector in Illustrator.

I will discuss what the tutor said in the next post.
